The man behind the lens
My name is Gerardo Mata, the Founder of GM Productions, LLC. But titles come second. I am a husband, a son, a brother, and above all of it, a follower of Jesus Christ.
That order is not an accident. It is the reason I do this work the way I do it. GM Productions did not begin as a business plan. It began as a calling to serve people on the one day they will replay for the rest of their lives, and to hand them something they can hold on to long after it ends.
Where I learned to see
That year I joined Tomorrow's Filmmakers, the top online filmmaking academy in the world. I was done guessing. I wanted to master this craft from people making cinema for a living, and I have been obsessed every day since.
I learned to light a scene, to expose for skin, and to move a camera with intention instead of just pointing it. But the lesson that changed everything was simpler. Photography and cinematography are not two skills. They stand on one foundation. Light, composition, timing, emotion. That is why I do not shoot photo or video. I see your day as one story, told two ways.
The honest truth
Years into this, and it still happens. I will be alone at my desk near midnight, cutting a film, and a moment will catch me. A father seeing his daughter for the first time. A vow that breaks halfway through. And I realize I am wiping my own eyes.
If it moves me, and these are not even my memories, I can only imagine what it will do to you. That is the entire point. I am not making content. I am making the film you will play on every anniversary, and on a quiet Saturday night for no reason at all. The one your children will watch one day. The one that brings the whole day rushing back. Every single time.
What I build on
My faith is not a detail I keep off to the side. It is the ground everything else stands on. The Bible shapes how I run this business. It is why I show up early, prepared, and fully present. It is why I treat your marriage as something sacred and not just another date on a calendar.
For you, that means something simple. You are trusting your wedding day to someone who believes he will answer for how he cares for you. That is a different kind of accountability. More than one couple has told me they felt cared for long before they ever saw a single photo.
